“Several friends and colleagues recommended Indie Living to us when we started the process of planning our “forever home”. We came to Ben with our own designs already drawn up, and right from the start he was so organised (speaking my language there), detail oriented, open and transparent about the process, what to expect etc. We sought quotes from several builders and the difference in just how “real” our conversation with Ben was really stood out. Didn’t feel like a sales pitch or someone trying to tell us what we wanted to hear, or giving glossed-over answers to our questions. Now that our build is finished and we have been living here for almost two months, we can confidently recommend Indie Living to anyone considering on building or renovating their home. Ben & Greg make a formidable team, bringing their strengths in different areas together in a way that just works. To the amazement of almost everyone we speak to, our house was completed AHEAD of schedule (getting us in before Christmas!), and on budget. Who knew that could happen? I think a large part of why we (and others who have used Indie) come in on budget so regularly is that they are very specific in their quotations, you know what is or isn’t included. Of course the more information you can give your builder about selections, fixtures & fittings, the more accurately they can quote. During the build process, it was very rare indeed that we felt stressed. Every decision was discussed, we knew where things were up to and what was coming next. Any problems that arose were resolved efficiently. Site meetings are a regular occurrence. We had a few custom design requests (eg handmade iron staircase balusters, and a curved wall, to name a few) and these were met with a can-do attitude rather than dismissing it as too hard. It has all paid off. On the whole, Ben & Greg and their team of regular sub-contractors seem to genuinely care about giving people a quality product. We love our new home and are still pinching ourselves that this ridiculously awesome place is ours!”
